Finding a Place to Call Home
After only a month, I am ready to call Malta home. Being retired gives me the most precious gift of all: time. Every morning I wake up and remind myself, "I am the luckiest person I know." I am incredibly excited to begin this new chapter, completely open to suggestions, to learning and discovery.
Initially I wanted to join an eco-village. Since none exist here on Malta, I began searching for an alternative style of living, where neighbors become an extended family, sharing life rather than just living side by side. But I realized I have to narrow down search parameters and focus on a clear path. Here's the criteria I’ve shared with real estate agents:
I am currently traveling and will return to Malta on 17 November, which is when I plan to begin viewings. I’m a single female looking for a modern, clean, and well-maintained apartment (ideally 2 bedrooms, though I am open to alternatives) with a budget of approximately €1,200/month.
I am focusing my search on walkable, vibrant neighborhoods that offer a blend of daily convenience and local charm. My preferred areas are Sliema, Balluta, Qui-Si-Sana, Tigné, Ta’ Xbiex, Gżira, and nearby.
Main requirements: -Modern and well-maintained -Fully furnished -Air conditioning -Elevator -Convenient waste disposal -Walkable area -Basic groceries within walking distance -Balcony or terrace preferred -Greenery, trees or parks nearby would be a plus
